On Friday, the cross-country teams ran against 66 other teams at the District One championship meet at Lehigh University.
The boys team placed 4th and will advance to the state meet for the first time in 31 years. The team was bested by West Chester Henderson, who is ranked #1 in the state and barely beaten by Council Rock North and two-time defending state champions North Penn. The team was led by junior Glen Burkhardt's 12th place finish. The girls team placed 9th and were led by Kathleen Insetta's 14th place finish. The team did not advance, but Kathleen placed high enough in the district to advance to the state meet as an individual. The state championship race is this Saturday at Hershey.
