Football Indians Building a Tradition

Many people expected graduations to gently nudge Unionville back in the middle of the pack. But then, out of nowhere, the No. 15 Indians, with Matt Carroll's little brother and a bunch of no-names, went to No. 2 Pennsbury last Friday and stunned the heavily favored Falcons. Greg Carroll and those no-name Indians now have a distinction. And Clark, who is 50-17 in six years at the helm, is in the midst of cultivating a nice run of success into a new proud tradition.

Unionville football travels to Ridley on Friday night (7 p.m.) one week after stunning No. 2 seeded Pennsbury in district opener

The Unionville High School football team played an extremely challenging regular season schedule this year, and by doing so the Indians found out first-hand that they could play with just about anybody. So one would've expected No. 15 Unionville to give No. 2 seeded Pennsbury a battle last Friday night in the opening round of the District 1 Class AAAA playoffs. But to knock off the heavy favorites? Most gave them little chance. However, that's why they don't play the games on paper as Unionville went into the home stadium of the Suburban One League National Conference champions and earned a shocking 12-7 victory over Pennsbury.

Boys Soccer Finish Season Number Four in the State

The boys soccer team lost to Father Judge last night 2-1 in double overtime. The loss ended their remarkable season with a final record of 22 - 3. Highlights included Ches-Mont division and league championships, a District 1 championship, and a final four finish in the PIAA State playoffs. Congratulations to Coach Garber, his assistants, and the team for their accomplishments.
Thank you to all the parents, students, and fans that supported the team throughout the season.

Ches-Mont and District 1 Champion Soccer Indians Head to State Semi-Finals

The boys soccer team defeated Red Land HS Saturday night by a score of 3 - 1. They will play Father Judge on Tuesday evening at 7PM inthe PIAA State Semifinal Game. The game will be played at Harriton High School. Ticket prices are $6 for adults and $3 for students. Tickets may be purchased online using the following link:  http://piaa.ticketleap.com . Students who want to ride a spectator bus to the game must sign up in the Athletic Office by 11AM on Tuesday. If we have enough students the bus
leave UHS at 5:30 PM on Tuesday.

Football Team Wins AAAA Playoff Game

Our football team won its first ever AAAA playoff game 12 - 7 over #2
seeded Pennsbury Friday evening. They will play Ridley HS in the District 1
quarterfinal at Ridley next weekend.

UHS soccer wins state playoff opener, will next face Red Land on Saturday night (5 p.m.) at Exeter High in Reading.

This season has been quite a memorable one for the Unionville High School soccer team.

They've already captured the Ches-Mont League title and won the District 1 Class AAA championship for the first time in school history.

Soccer Team Wins District Title

Our boys soccer team defeated Downingtown West 3-0 on Saturday to win our first soccer district title in the history of UHS. Congratulations to our athletes and coaches for this achievement and good luck as they continue into the PIAA State Soccer playoffs. The team will play George Washington HS from Philadelphia this Tuesday, 11/10, at WC East HS at 5:45 PM. Ticket prices will be $6 for adults and $3 for students.

Football Team on a Roll

With their win over Sun Valley Friday night the varsity football team has won 6 games in a row and qualified for the AAAA playoffs. The team will travel to play Pennsbury HS on Friday, November 13, at 7PM. Ticket prices will be $5. Good luck team!

Cross Country Team Succeeds in Playoffs

Congratulations to the boys Cross Country team for their 6th place finish in the PIAA State Meet on Saturday. Glen Burkhardt and Matt Fischer finished in the top 25 runners and received medals.

Congratulations to Kathleen Insetta as she did a great job representing the UHS girls Cross Country team by finishing 35th in the state.

Boys Soccer Team Competes for District Title Saturday

The boys soccer team will be playing for the District 1 Championship this Saturday, 11/7, at Souderton HS and admission is $5. Come out and support the team as they try for the first soccer district title in UHS history!

Cross Country Team Competes in State Competition This Saturday

The boys cross country will be competing for a team trophy this Saturday in the PIAA State Cross Country Meet at Hershey. Kathleen Insetta will represent UHS in the girls race. Good luck to all our runners!

Boys Soccer Moves on to Championship Game

The boys soccer team defeated CB East last night 1-0 in 2 overtimes. They will face Downingtown West in the District 1 Championship game Saturday.

Cross Country Team Highly Ranked in District Meet

On Friday, the cross-country teams ran against 66 other teams at the District One championship meet at Lehigh University.

The boys team placed 4th and will advance to the state meet for the first time in 31 years. The team was bested by West Chester Henderson, who is ranked #1 in the state and barely beaten by Council Rock North and two-time defending state champions North Penn. The team was led by junior Glen Burkhardt's 12th place finish. The girls team placed 9th and were led by Kathleen Insetta's 14th place finish. The team did not advance, but Kathleen placed high enough in the district to advance to the state meet as an individual. The state championship race is this Saturday at Hershey.

Boys Soccer to Play in State Tournament

The boys soccer team will play Central Bucks East HS in the semi-final round of the District 1 tournament this Wednesday night at WC East HS. Game time is 7PM and admission is $5.

Because the team won their game with Strath Haven (2-0) on Saturday they have qualified for the PIAA State tournament that begins next Tuesday.

Girls Volleyball Beats Villa Maria

Our girls volleyball team defeated Villa Maria Academy on Thursday
evening 3 - 0. They will travel to Hatboro Horsham HS on Tuesday, November
3, for a 7 PM match.

Boys Soccer beats Cheltenham

Our boys soccer team defeated Cheltenham Thursday night 4 - 0. The boys
will host Strath Haven HS this Saturday at 5:30 PM.

Girls Soccer wins in Overtime

The girls soccer team defeated Bishop Shanahan Thursday night 1 - 0 in the second overtime period. The girls will travel to play Villa Joseph Marie HS this Saturday at 1 PM.

Unionville wins Ches-Mont American Divison volleyball title

Last year the Unionville High School volleyball team made it all the way to the district championship game before going on to finish in the top-eight in the state.

It's too early to tell what will happen in the post-season this year for the Indians, but they appear ready to make another deep run.

Last week, Unionville captured the Ches-Mont League's American Division championship. The Indians (11-1 league) only Ches-Mont loss of the season occurred just this past Monday night against rival Kennett.

UHS VARSITY BOYS SOCCER SUCCESS; PLAYOFFS START THURS, OCT 29

Congratulations to the UHS VARSITY BOYS’ SOCCER TEAM  for their win over
Downingtown West last Thursday night (10/22) to win the Ches-Mont League
Championship!  The game was well played and hard fought as Unionville won
1 to 0 on a goal by DREW SOMMER.   Thank you to all the parents and students
who came out on a beautiful fall night to support the team.  The boys
varsity and girls varsity will play at home this Thursday (10/29) as we
begin district playoffs.  The girls' game will begin at 5:45 PM with the

Cross Country Teams Win Division

The boys cross country team finished second out of 14 schools in the Ches-Mont league race on Thursday and our girls team finished third. Both teams won their division title for this season and will be participating in the District meet October 30 at Lehigh University.

Great Season for Cross Country

The boys cross-country team finished their league season yesterday as the runner-up in Ches-Mont to West Chester Henderson, the #1 ranked team in the state.  The team was led by junior Glen Burkardt's 4th place finish.  The boys JV team placed 2nd to Henderson and were led by junior Jeff Auger.   The girls team placed 3rd in the Championship meet to Henderson and Downingtown East and were again led by Kathleen Insetta.  The girls JV team placed 2nd to Downingtown East and were led by freshman Melissa Talley.

Both teams compete at the District One Championship next Friday at Lehigh.

The girls soccer team will play Downingtown West this Thursday night for the Ches-Mont league title. The game will be at Great Valley HS and ticket prices are $5 for adults and $3 for students. Game time will be either 5:30 or 7:30 PM.

Cross Country Success at Invitational

On Friday the cross-country teams competed against 37 other teams at Bellevue Park in Delaware. The boys won the Invitational and were led by the return of Matt Fischer, who finished 2nd in the race. The girls finished 4th and were led by Kathleen Insetta's 10th place finish. Both JV teams finished 2nd in their respective races. The teams will compete in the Ches-Mont Championships this Thursday.

Volleyball Team Sweeps Rustin

The varsity volleyball team swept Rustin yesterday for its fourth win in four days!The Indians were led by Shannon Donaghey, Megan Tageson and Megan Cohan. The team is now 14-1 and play tomorrow at the  Crosstown tournament and end the regular season Monday night versus Kennett. Next week the Indians will be in the Ches Mont championship match either Wednesday or Friday night.

Girls Volleyball Clinches Ches-Mont League Championship

Unionville clinched the Ches-Mont League American Division girls volleyball championship with a 25-11, 25-11, 25-14 win over visiting Octorara. The Indians improved to 10-0 in the league and 11-1 overall as Rachel Fink totaled five kills, AnnMarie Scaggs eight assists, Kelly Hewton three aces and seven digs, and Katie Matkov eight kills. Megan Tageson played a strong all-around match.

The varsity volleyball team swept Avon Grove on Friday , three sets to none, to extend its record to 10-1. The Indians were led by Megan Cohan, Katie Matkov and Shannon Donaghey. Senior Recognition night tomorrow against Octoraro. Come in and support the team!

UHS Wins Homecoming Game 33-17

At halftime of Saturday's football game against Great Valley, Unionville coach Pat Clak gave a short speech with his Indians trailing by 10 points. "I just told them to calm down," Clark said. His words must have worked because host Unionville scored four touchdowns in the third quarter on the way to a 33-17 victory over the Patriots in a Ches-Mont League American Division game.

Winter Sports Meeting

There will be a meeting for all parents of students who are participating in Winter Sports on Monday, November 9, at 7PM in the UHS auditorium. A presentation will be made by Athletic Director Joe Derickson and there will be time to meet with coaches and booster organizations. We look forward to seeing you there.

Cross Country Finishes Regular Season in Stride

The boys cross-country team finished the regular season undefeated yesterday with wins over Oxford and Sun Valley. The team was led by a Jeff Auger, Clay Burkhardt, Glen Burkhardt, Matt Fischer, Brandt LoPapa, and Thomas Nichols who all finished together to lead the Indians.

The girls team also won easliy and were led by Rebecca Bryer, Jordan Close, Jillian Jaycox, Kathleen Insetta and Lauren Mills who all finished together in a time of 22 minutes. The girls completed their  eventh
consecutive undefeated season with the two wins yesterday.

Both teams will compete next Friday at the Bellevue Invitational.

Winter Cheerleading Meeting

The meeting for parents and cheerleaders interested in Winter cheerleading (basketball and competition squads) will be held in the library classroom on Thursday, October 15th from 5:15-5:45. If you cannot attend this meeting, please contact Ms. WIlson or Mrs. Thompson-Calio before the meeting.

Cross Country Competes in Steel City Invitational

On Saturday the cross-country teams ran the Steel City Invitational in Coatesville.  The boys team, currently ranked 7th in the state was the runner-up to Altoona, who is tanked 5th in the state.  Glen Burkhardt, Mike Ledyard, Adam Cantini, and Nick Guarino all brought home individual trophies.  The girls varsity B team finished 6th and were led by freshman Anne Birkenmaier, who placed 18th to bring home an individual trophy.

Both undefeated teams travel to Oxford on Wednesday to run with Sun Valley in a tri-meet to finish their regular season.

This weekend Ally Jameson a Unionville senior won the Ches Mont American Division singles title and Jackie Lane finished 4th. Girls Soccer Remains Undefeated in League Play

Just over two minutes into the first overtime, Unionville sophomore Kris Abens took a great cross from teammate Kelsey McDonald and buried it into the back of the net to give the visiting Indians a key 1-0 overtime victory over Kennett on Wednesday afternoon at Kennett High School.

Cross Country Competes in Hershey

The cross-country teams traveled to Hershey this past weekend for their first large Invitational of the year. The boys team placed first among 25 teams and had four of their top five runners medal by placing in the top 20. Glen Burkhardt, Mike Ledyard, Adam Cantini, and Nick Guarino led the Indians, who will go for their first ever team championship at Steel City this weekend.

The girls team placed 4th in a 28 team field. The girls finished behind the #1, 5 and 7 teams in the state. The girls were led by Kathleen Insetta and Lauren Mills, both brought home medals. The girls varsity B team will race at Steel City this weekend.
