UHS Women's Soccer Score Update

The JV girls soccer team kept their win streak alive by pulling off a win at West Chester Rustin last night.  Allie Foote scored the lone goal off a PK.  Standout performances included Erin Mazur on attack, Hadley McKnight in the mid-field and Jenny Keglovitz on the defense.  Catherine Clisham tucked away another shutout.  Congrats to the JV girls soccer as they improved to 6-2-2 overall.

Varsity (9-2-0)  took on another local rival in West Chester Rustin last night.  Injuries impacted the Unionville lineup, but the chemistry was equally strong.  Brooke Cicchino broke the ice with a high flying corner kick that Veronica Hineman softly placed in the back of the net.   The defense was in “bend but don’t break” mode last evening and that’s just what the doctor ordered.  Katie Borlie returned in net and the DEFENSE extended their scoreless streak to 8 games which leads the Ches-Mont.  Once the clock hit zero, Unionville proudly walked away with a 1-0 victory!!!!

Unionville Women's Soccer Update

Unionville JV Soccer took to the pitch again last night with a match against Great Valley.   By the time the game ended, Unionville walked away with a sound victory, 3-0.   This win takes the JV squad’s record to 4-2-2 for the season.  The defensive front was the Berlin Wall as they didn’t let Great Valley get a quality shot off the entire game.  Compliments to Hannah Firment, Alexia Brown, Julia Raffety, & Shannon Garvey as they held the fort down.

The Varsity team took on the underrated Great Valley last night as well.  The Patriots got off to fast start with a few direct shots that put Unionville on its heels.    It didn’t take long for Unionville to fix the ship.  Brooke Cicchino broke the ice with a corner kick that was placed in the net by Veronica Hineman.  The north/south connection occurred later in the first half as defender, Erin Garvey, places the ball to Hineman who finds Sam Ciccarelli who eventually put the second goal on the board.  Julia Capperella finished the night with a pass to V to end the night with a 3-0 victory.  Amazingly, this was the defense’s 7th shutout of the season.   The Varsity soccer team’s record (8-2) leads the Ches-Mont with a big game at West Chester Rustin at 7:00 PM on Wednesday.  Stay tuned for details about possible free food at this game on Wednesday morning’s announcement!
