Indoor states update

The Indoor Track and Field team finished their season Saturday at State College at the Championship meet.

The team was led by senior Anna Juul's 2nd place finish in the mile, with a time of 4:56.14.  The 4x800 meter relay team made up of Marcella Krautzel, Jilian Brislin, Makayla Bucci and Eleizabeth Edwards finished 13th.

Outdoor Track anf Field starts next Monday and it is not too late to join!

Re: Varsity Boys Ice Hockey

The varsity boys ice hockey team lost their final game of the regular season to West Chester East by a score of 6 to 5.  The team was down 4-0 midway through the game but battled back to tie it 4-4 at the end of the second period.  Goals were scored by Aiden Masters, Tyler Glennon and Jack McKenna. Assists were made by Joey Impagliazzo, Cade Lenkaitis and Tait Mott. Strong defensive play by Paul Malone, Oscar Daum, Bryce Halsey and Curtis Jones helped as goalie Ben Basilio made 27 saves in net. 
The team will start the Chesmont playoffs on Monday, February 27th at Iceline at 6:30 pm. This game will be a rematch with West Chester East! Hope to see U at the rink!

Girls Varsity Ice Hockey
Congratulations to the girls for their undefeated season, finishing up 16-0!  The team beat Lansdale Catholic on Friday with another shutout and a final score of 7-0.  Goals were scored by Madison Doucette, Kaelen Speck, Mia Impagliazzo, Hannah Close and Jordan Hower.  Assists were provided by Jordan Hower, Natalie Thorley, Hannah Close, Madison Doucette and Mia Impagliazzo.  The girls head back to Ice Line on Friday, March 3 for their first round of the league playoffs at 6:30 PM.  See U at the rink!

Girls Varsity Ice Hockey
The girls head back to the ice this Friday, February 24 for their last game of the regular season before playoffs begin in early March.  Senior players Sierra Dycio, Mackenzie Myers and Allie Ward will be recognized before the game.  The puck drops at 6:45 PM at the Barn (Upland Country Day School) when they battle for an undefeated season against Lansdale Catholic.  Hope to see U at the rink!

JV Boys Ice Hockey

The jv boys ice hockey team won their first playoff game on Sunday night defeating Springfield 5 to 3. Philip Doucette started the scoring and Tait Mott and Ben Brucker added 2 goals each. Assists were made by Ben Brucker, Jake Petrillo and Philip Doucette. The team will face Downingtown West in the second round of the playoffs on Wednesday, February 15th at Iceline at 8:30 pm. Girls Varsity Ice Hockey
The girls shutout Garnet Valley on Friday night with a final score of 10-0.  Defense kept their opponent out of the scoring zone while offense controlled the puck at the net.  Claire Donovan, Madison Doucette, Sierra Dycio, Jordan Hower and Madison Miles scored for the team.  Assists came from Madison Miles, Jordan Hower, Allie Ward, Madison Doucette, Nina Impagliazzo, Anna Nolan and Claire Donavan.  The team has a short break before they play their final regular season game and then begin playoffs.  Senior players Sierra Dycio, Mackenzie Myers and Allie Ward will be recognized on Friday, February 24 when the team takes on Lansdale Catholic at 6:45 PM at the Barn.  See U at the rink! 

The Unionville girls basketball program defeated Kennett by a score of 52-47. Leading the way for the Indians was Maddie Shanahan with 21 points and 12 rebounds. Sophia Detweiler added 10 points and Sarah Covert chipped in with 9. The U finished the regular season with a 13-9 record and is eagerly waiting for an opportunity to play in the district finals.

The girls JV basketball team ended their season Friday night with a victory over arch rival, Kennett, 31-20. Kathie Heldt was the game's high scorer with 9 points.  The girls finished the year with 13 wins and 5 losses, including an 8-2 record within the division.

Boys JV Basketball wrapped up their season with a 77-51 win over Kennett on Friday night. UNionville was led by Pete Kucharczuk with 21, Danny Lattari 14 and Connor Ash 11points each. The team ended the season with a record of 19-1."

UHS Boys Varsity Basketball Results vs Kennett

The Unionville Varsity Boys Basketball team won Friday night's division game vs Kennett 63-46.  Unionville was led by their six seniors Scottie Miller, Andrew Burich, Zeb Martelli, Brendan Barrett, Chris D'Amico and Val Dobbins.   Scottie Miller led the charge with 24 points including 5 three pointers.  Andrew Burich contributed 15 points and 9 rebounds.  Zeb Martelli was a force inside with 5 points, 5 rebounds and 5 blocks.   Brendan Barrett had 10 points and 9 rebounds.   Chris D'Amico and Val Dobbins contributed 2 points each and played great defense in the win.  Unionville ends their season with a 6-6 ChesMont record and 10-12 overall record.

The Unionville girls basketball program lost a home game last night against Oxford by a score of 35-34. Leading the way for the Indians was Grace Schrof with 13 points. Sarah Covert added 7 points and Maddie Shanahan had 6. The last home game will be Thursday evening with a girls and boys double header. Come on out and support the seniors, and say farewell.

Boys Varsity Basketball Results at Oxford

The Unionville Varsity Boys Basketball Team lost to Oxford 88-79 on Tuesday night.  The Indians battled back from a 21 point 3rd quarter to deficit to pull within 4 points late but were unable to get any closer.   The Indians were led by Scottie Miller with 22 points and Brendan Barrett with 14 points.   Andrew Burich contributed 8 points and was a force on the glass and defensively.  The Indians take on Kennett high school on Thursday night.

February 7 Freshman Boys' Basketball Results

 In the season finale, the freshman boys' basketball team defeated Downingtown East, 38-31. Owen Dunn was the leading scorer with 10 points; Jon Passarello added 8. Declan Boyle pulled down 7 rebounds and Dunn added 5. The 9th graders ended the season with a 12-4 record...their four loses were by an average of only 4 points. Congratulations to Coach Clark and the squad on a successful first year of high school basketball.

Varsity Boys Ice Hockey

The varsity boys ice hockey team was back in action on Monday night. The team defeated Owen J. Roberts by a score of 6 to 2. Goals were scored by Tyler Glennon, Paul Malone, Jamie Wenzel, Joey Impagliazzo and Ben Brucker. Assists were made by Tait Mott and Paul Malone. Goalie Ben Basilio made 24 saves in net. The team's next game is Friday, February 24th at 8:30 pm when they take on West Chester East. Hope to see U at the rink!

Indoor Track and Field update

The Indoor track and field team competed at Kutztown University Friday night and were led by strong performances from Holy Clark, Anna Juul and Brett Wagner.  The girls 4 x 800 meter relay team also won their relay with a state qualifying time.  There is an informational outdoor track and field meeting this Wednesday at 2:30 in the LGI.

Unionville Boys Varsity Basketball Results at Strath Haven

The Unionville Varsity Boys Basketball team lost their non-conference game to Strath Haven by a score of 73-52.   Zeb Martelli and Scottie Miller led the Indians with 12 and 10 points respectively.   The Indians resume action on Tuesday night at 7:30 vs Oxford.

Varsity Boys Basketball results at Great Valley

The Unionville Boys Basketball team lost a hard fought game to Great Valley by a score of 52-45.  The Indians were led by Bo Furey- Bastian with 11 points and Joe Zubilaga with 10. Scottie Miller and Andrew Burich chipped in with 7 points each.   The Indians resume action on Saturday afternoon with an away game at Strath Haven at 2:30.

UHS Girls JV Basketball Recap; Feb 2 vs Great Valley

The girls JV basketball team defeated Great Valley last night, 30-16, bringing their record to 11 wins and 4 losses.  Erin Towler was the game's high scorer with 10 points, while Riley Moriarty, Anna Iacocca, Casey Baughan, and Meghan Megill each chipped in 4 points a piece.  The next home game is Saturday afternoon at 1:00 against Owen J. February 2 Freshman Boys' Basketball Results

Kennett held an 8-7 edge at the end of the first quarter and that was the last time the Blue Demons would lead as the freshman boys' basketball team used stifling defense in an overwhelming 40-18 victory. The Indians'  big men blocked 12 shots and pulled down 20 rebounds. Gabe D'Angelo was tops in scoring and rebounding with 8 and 4 respectively.  The last home game for the 9th grade squad, which has an 11-3 record, is Monday at 3:15 against Rustin at home.
