9.14 JV girls soccer

The JV girls soccer team found itself in a nail biter against Sun Valley on Wednesday afternoon.  While the visiting Indians were clearly the more talented squad, it took 62 minutes of play before they would find the back of the net.  Thanks to a determined spirit and boundless amounts of heart, the team kept fighting for a goal to post the victory, and it arrived in textbook form.  Dia Kotanidis, who provided a much needed burst of energy in the second half, controlled the ball on sideline to find an open Mel Landry in the center position.  Landry connected with captain Claire Matson up top who beat the last defender for a perfect shot on goal.  The shutout was held by MVP Paige Harlan in the central defense with help from Alanna Wolfe in goal.  The girls return to action next Monday against Bishop Shanahan. Go U!
